§ 38.2-618. Immunity of persons disclosing information.

No cause of action in the nature of defamation, invasion of privacy, ornegligence shall arise against any person for disclosing personal orprivileged information in accordance with this chapter, nor shall such acause of action arise against any person for furnishing personal orprivileged information to an insurance institution, agent, orinsurance-support organization. However, this section shall provide noimmunity for disclosing or furnishing false information with malice orwillful intent to injure any person.
