§ 40.1-5. Governor to appoint Commissioner of Labor and Industry.

The Governor shall appoint, by and with the consent of the General Assembly,some suitable person identified with the labor interests of the Commonwealth,who shall be designated Commissioner of Labor and Industry. The Commissionershall, upon the request of the Governor, furnish such information as he mayrequire. The Commissioner shall serve at the pleasure of the Governor for aterm coincident with that of the Governor.
