§ 40.1-51.17. Effect of chapter on local ordinances and regulations.

Nothing in this chapter shall be construed as repealing any valid localordinance or regulation now in effect adopted pursuant to general law orcharter provision; provided, however, that if any such ordinance orregulation is less strict than any standard rule or regulation promulgated oradopted by the Board, then such ordinance or regulation shall be supersededby the applicable standard or regulation of the Board except as provided in §40.1-51.19.
