§ 44-62. Members of naval reserve.

Officers and enlisted personnel of the naval militia shall be required, inthe discretion of the Secretary of the Navy, to be appointed or enlisted inthe naval reserve in the grade, rank, or rating for which they may be foundqualified in accordance with such special regulations as may be prescribed bythe Secretary of the Navy. Unless within one year after the organization ofany unit of the naval militia at least ninety-five per centum of itspersonnel has been appointed or enlisted in the naval reserve, it shall bedisbanded, and thereafter, unless its organization, administration, andtraining conform to the standard prescribed by the Secretary of the Navy forsuch units, it shall be disbanded.
