§ 45.1-161.215. Notice of monitor tampering prohibition.

The operator or agent, shall display, in bold-faced type, on a sign placed atthe mine office, at the bath house, and on a bulletin board at the mine site,the following notice:

NOTICE: IT IS UNLAWFUL TO DISTURB, DISCONNECT, BYPASS, IMPAIR, OR OTHERWISETAMPER WITH METHANE MONITORS OR OTHER DEVICES CAPABLE OF DETECTING THEPRESENCE OF EXPLOSIVE GASES IN AN UNDERGROUND COAL MINE. A VIOLATION ISPUNISHABLE AS A CLASS 6 FELONY.
