45.1-161.251 - Employment of inexperienced underground miners.

§ 45.1-161.251. Employment of inexperienced underground miners.

A. Inexperienced underground miners shall be required to work with anexperienced underground miner for a total of at least six months followingunderground employment. However, experienced surface miners shall only berequired to work with an experienced underground miner for a total of atleast sixty days following underground employment.

B. No inexperienced underground miner shall be assigned, or allowed, or berequired to perform work alone in any area where there is the potential toendanger his safety unless he can communicate with others, can be heard, orcan be seen.
