§ 45.1-161.292:24. Reciprocal acceptance of other certifications.

In lieu of an examination prescribed by law or regulation, the Board ofMineral Mining Examiners may issue to any person holding a certificate issuedby another state a certificate permitting him to perform similar tasks inthis Commonwealth, provided that (i) the Board finds that the requirementsfor certification in such other state are substantially equivalent to thoseof Virginia and (ii) holders of certificates issued by the Board arepermitted to perform similar tasks in such state, and obtain similarcertification from such state if required, upon presentation of thecertificate issued by the Board and without additional testing, training, orother requirements not directly related to program administration.
