§ 46.2-749.112. Special license plates; supporters of adoption programs; fees.

A. On receipt of an application and payment of the fee prescribed by thissection, the Commissioner shall issue special license plates to supporters ofadoption programs.

B. The annual fee for plates issued pursuant to this section shall be $25 inaddition to the prescribed fee for state license plates. For each such $25fee collected in excess of 1,000 registrations pursuant to this section, $15shall be paid into the state treasury and credited to a special nonrevertingfund known as the Virginia Department of Social Services Adoption ProgramsFund, established within the Department of Accounts. These funds shall bepaid annually to the Virginia Department of Social Services and used (i) tosupport its adoption programs and (ii) to develop a grants program that shallprovide all licensed Virginia nonprofit child-placing services a means toapply for portions of such funds to support their child placement programsand activities in Virginia.
