§ 46.2-749.2:10. Special license plates for supporters of community trafficsafety programs in the Commonwealth; fees.

A. On receipt of an application and payment of the fee prescribed by thissection, the Commissioner shall issue special license plates bearing thefollowing legend: DRIVE SMART.

B. The annual fee for plates issued pursuant to this section shall be $25 inaddition to the prescribed fee for state license plates. For each such $25fee collected in excess of 1,000 registrations pursuant to this section, $15shall be paid into the state treasury and credited to the specialnonreverting fund known as the Drive Smart Virginia Fund, established withinthe Department of Accounts, for use by Drive Smart Virginia to support itsprograms and activities in the Commonwealth.
