§ 46.2-749.61. Special license plates to benefit the children of the victimsof the September 11, 2001, attack on the Pentagon; fees.

A. On receipt of an application and payment of the fee prescribed by thissection, the Commissioner shall issue special license plates to benefit thechildren of the victims of the September 11, 2001, attack on the Pentagon.

B. The annual fee for plates issued pursuant to this section shall betwenty-five dollars in addition to the prescribed fee for state licenseplates. For each such twenty-five dollar fee collected in excess of 1,000registrations pursuant to this section, fifteen dollars shall be paid intothe state treasury and credited to a special nonreverting fund known as thePentagon Heroes Scholarship Fund established within the Department ofAccounts. These moneys shall be paid annually to the Board of Directors ofthe Federal Employee Education and Assistance Fund to be used in providingeducational scholarships to Virginia public and private institutions ofhigher education for the children of the victims of the September 11, 2001,attack on the Pentagon.
