§ 5.1-47. Project and application to be approved by Department.

Notwithstanding any other provision of law, no county, city or town, whetheracting alone or jointly with another county, city or town or with theCommonwealth, shall submit to the Federal Aviation Administration of theUnited States any project application under the provisions of any act ofCongress which provides airport construction, planning and development fundsfor the expansion and improvement of the airport system insofar as such actshall pertain to the Commonwealth of Virginia, unless the project and theproject application have been first approved by the Department.
