§ 53.1-67.8. Establishment of program.

The Department is authorized to establish and maintain a system ofresidential detention centers to provide a highly structured, short-termperiod of incarceration for individuals committed to the Department under theprovisions of § 19.2-316.2. The program shall include components formilitary-style management and supervision, physical labor in organized publicworks projects, counseling, remedial education, substance abuse testing andtreatment, and community re-entry services.
