§ 54.1-3420. Distribution of certain drugs; written request or confirmationof receipt.

No manufacturer or distributor of controlled substances shall distribute ordispense any substance listed on Schedules II through V to any person,whether a practitioner of the healing arts or some other profession, exceptwith the written request or confirmation of receipt of the practitioner. Suchrequest or confirmation shall be maintained as required by this chapter.

Subject to the foregoing provisions, no person shall be prohibited fromdistributing controlled substances listed on Schedules II through V forcharitable uses or for use in research or investigations.
