§ 54.1-3426. Regulations for special packaging.

A. The Board shall adopt standards for special packaging consistent withthose promulgated pursuant to the federal Poison Prevention Packaging Act of1970 (15 U.S.C. § 1471 et seq.). The Board may exempt any drug from therequirements of special packaging and shall exempt any drug exempted pursuantto the Poison Prevention Packaging Act of 1970.

B. A prescriber or a purchaser may direct that a drug, which is subject tobeing dispensed in special packaging, be dispensed in other than specialpackaging.
