§ 56-484.1. Definitions.

The following terms, whenever used or referred to in this article, shall havethe following meanings, unless a different meaning appears from the context:

A. "Commission" shall mean the State Corporation Commission.

B. "Exchange" shall mean a geographical area established for theadministration of communication services and consisting of one or morecentral offices together with associated facilities used in providingtelephone exchange service. Exchanges are identified in the tariffs of thetelephone companies as filed with the Commission.

C. "Local service area" shall mean the entire area composed of an exchangeor exchanges within which are located the telephones which a customer maycall at the rates and charges specified for local exchange service in thetariffs of the telephone companies as filed with the Commission.
