§ 6.1-119. (Repealed effective October 1, 2010) Making derogatory statementsaffecting banks.

Any person who willfully and maliciously makes, circulates or transmits toanother, any statement, rumor or suggestion, written, printed or by word ofmouth, which is directly or by reference derogatory to the financialcondition or affects the solvency or financial standing of any bank or trustcompany doing business in this Commonwealth, or who counsels, aids, procuresor induces another to start, transmit or circulate any such statement orrumor, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shallbe sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $2,500 or to be confined in jailfor not more than one year, or both.
