§ 6.1-44.14. (Repealed effective October 1, 2010) Nonseverability.

It is the purpose of this article to authorize the establishment of branchesin this Commonwealth by out-of-state banks whose home state permits Virginiabanks to establish branches in that state under substantially the same termsas set forth in this article. It is not the purpose of this article toauthorize branching in this state by out-of-state banks on any basis otherthan as expressly provided in this article. Therefore, if any provision ofthis article is held to be invalid for any reason by a final order of anyVirginia or federal court of competent jurisdiction, then the invalidityshall cause the entire article to be invalid. However, any transaction thathas been lawfully consummated pursuant to this article prior to adetermination of invalidity shall be unaffected by such determination.
