§ 6.1-225.19. (Repealed effective October 1, 2010) Unlawful use of words"credit union".

It shall be unlawful for any person, partnership, association, corporation ororganization, other than a credit union organized under the provisions ofthis chapter or any entity authorized by any federal law, and other than anyassociation or corporation the owners, members or constituents of whichconsist exclusively of authorized state and federal credit unions or membersof authorized state and federal credit unions, to use any name or title whichcontains the words "credit union." A violation of the provisions of thissection shall be a Class 1 misdemeanor and may be enjoined by any courthaving equity jurisdiction over the unauthorized user.
