§ 6.2-1042. (Effective October 1, 2010) Making derogatory statementsaffecting trust companies; penalty.

Any person who willfully and maliciously makes, circulates or transmits toanother, any statement, rumor or suggestion that is directly or by referencederogatory to the financial condition, or affects the solvency or financialstanding of, any trust company doing business in the Commonwealth, or whocounsels, aids, procures or induces another to start, transmit, or circulateany such statement or rumor, is guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor.
