§ 62.1-132.11:1. Prevention and suppression of fire.

The Authority may take such steps as necessary, not inconsistent with otherprovisions of law, to prevent and suppress fires on the waters of HamptonRoads, its tributaries and other waters in the vicinity of Hampton Roads, andon property adjacent to such waters which is accessible to a fire boat. Infurtherance of this purpose, the Authority may, out of such funds as maybecome available, purchase, equip, maintain, use, and provide and train acrew or crews for a fire boat or fire boats.
