§ 62.1-44.19:10. Assessment of sources of toxic contamination.

The Department of Environmental Quality shall develop a written policydescribing the circumstances or factors that indicate the need to conduct anassessment of potential sources of toxic contamination. The Department ofEnvironmental Quality shall conduct source assessments as provided for in thewritten policy and shall develop strategies to remediate the contamination. Acopy of the written policy shall be provided to the Chairmen of the HouseCommittees on Conservation and Natural Resources and Chesapeake and ItsTributaries and the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Conservation and NaturalResources no later than one month prior to the adoption of the policy but nolater than December 1, 2000. Any revision of the policy shall be submitted tothe chairmen of these committees no later than one month prior to theadoption of the revision by the Department.
