62.1-44.34:26 - Responsibilities of the Council - Virginia Statutes

§ 62.1-44.34:26. Responsibilities of the Council.

The Council shall have the following responsibilities:

1. To foster the exchange of information between the federal, state, andlocal government;

2. To enhance Virginia's participation in the United States EnvironmentalProtection Agency's Region III Response Team;

3. To review and evaluate the response to emergency situations and recommendchanges to the Commonwealth of Virginia's Oil and Hazardous MaterialsEmergency Response Plan;

4. To provide ongoing analysis of the most recent technical developments forthe remediation of discharges; and

5. To coordinate its activities with the State Hazardous Materials EmergencyResponse Advisory Council and the Virginia Emergency Response Council.
