63.2-1249 - Establishment of Registry.

§ 63.2-1249. Establishment of Registry.

A. A Putative Father Registry is hereby established in the Department ofSocial Services.

B. There is hereby created in the state treasury a special nonreverting fundto be known as the Putative Father Registry Fund, hereafter referred to as"the Fund." The Fund shall be established on the books of the Comptroller.All moneys collected under § 63.2-1201 shall be paid into the state treasuryand credited to the Fund. Interest earned on moneys in the Fund shall remainin the Fund and be credited to it. Any moneys remaining in the Fund,including interest thereon, at the end of each fiscal year shall not revertto the general fund by shall remain in the Fund. Moneys in the Fund shall beused solely for the purposes of administration of the Putative FatherRegistry. Expenditures and disbursements from the Fund shall be made by theState Treasurer on warrants issued by the Comptroller upon written requestsigned by the Commissioner or his designee.
