§ 63.2-1611. Policy of Commonwealth; Department designated agency tocoordinate state efforts.

The General Assembly declares that it is the policy of this Commonwealth tosupport the efforts of public and private community groups seeking to provideassistance to and treatment for the victims of domestic violence and toprovide recognition to the need to combat all phases of domestic violence inthis Commonwealth. To this end the Department is designated as the stateagency responsible for coordinating state efforts in this regard.
