§ 63.2-323. Emergency payments.
In emergency situations or in the event of delay or error in a state issuanceof payments for public assistance and social services to eligible recipients,or expenditures for administration and services, emergency payments shall beissued by local boards as authorized by Board regulations. In emergencysituations that result from lost or stolen checks, the Department shallassume liability for losses incurred by local boards due to fraudulent actsby recipients; however, the local board shall make diligent efforts to recoupany such lost funds in accordance with Board regulations.
