§ 63.2-617. Diversionary cash assistance.

The Board shall adopt regulations to enable TANF - eligible applicantsmeeting certain criteria to receive at one time the maximum TANF cashassistance that the applicant would otherwise receive for a period up to 120days. An individual may receive diversionary TANF cash assistance only onetime in a 12-month period and, in so doing, waives his eligibility for TANFfor a period of up to 160 days. Diversionary assistance shall be used todivert the family from receiving ongoing TANF cash assistance by providingassistance for one-time emergencies.
