§18-9-7. Supplemental aid for districts in which children's homes are located.
The state superintendent of schools shall apportion supplemental aid to any district or independent district in which is located any institution as a home for orphans or homeless children. The amount of such supplemental aid shall be equal to the product of the per capita cost of education for the preceding year and the total number of pupils from such children's homes enrolled in the public schools of the district applying for such aid, and shall be distributed in the manner prescribed in the next preceding section of this article for distribution of supplemental aid to other districts. The per capita cost of education for this purpose shall be determined on the basis of the enrollment in the elementary and high schools and the total expenditures for elementary and high school teachers and maintenance funds in such district.
