Report annually by hospitals required, content--filed with departmentof social services.

208.457. Each hospital shall keep such records as may be necessary todetermine the amount of its federal reimbursement allowance. On or beforeSeptember 1, 1992 and the first day of January of each year thereafter everyhospital as defined by section 197.020, RSMo, shall submit to the departmentof social services a statement that accurately reflects if the hospital ispublicly or privately owned, if the hospital is operated primarily for thecare and treatment of mental disorders, if the hospital is operated by thedepartment of health and senior services, or if the hospital accepts paymentfor services rendered. Every hospital required to pay the federalreimbursement allowance shall also submit a statement that accurately reflectstotal Missouri Medicaid hospital days, total unreimbursed care as determinedfrom the hospital's third prior year desk-reviewed cost report and all otherinformation as may be necessary to implement sections 208.450* to 208.480. Ifthe hospital does not have a third prior year desk-reviewed cost report,unreimbursed care shall be based on estimates determined by the department ofsocial services as established by rule and regulation.
