§ 14-113.23. Authority of the Attorney General.

§ 14‑113.23.  Authorityof the Attorney General.

The Attorney General mayinvestigate any complaint regarding identity theft under this Article. Inconducting these investigations, the Attorney General has all the investigativepowers available to the Attorney General under Article 1 of Chapter 75 of theGeneral Statutes. The Attorney General shall refer all cases of identity theftunder G.S. 14‑113.20 to the district attorney in the county where thecrime was deemed committed in accordance with G.S. 14‑113.21. (1999‑449, s. 1; 2005‑414,s. 7(2).)
