§ 14-132.2. Willfully trespassing upon, damaging, or impeding the progress of a public school bus.

§ 14‑132.2.  Willfullytrespassing upon, damaging, or impeding the progress of a public school bus.

(a)        Any person whoshall unlawfully and willfully demolish, destroy, deface, injure, burn ordamage any public school bus or public school activity bus shall be guilty of aClass 1 misdemeanor.

(b)        Any person whoshall enter a public school bus or public school activity bus after beingforbidden to do so by the authorized school bus driver in charge thereof, orthe school principal to whom the public school bus or public school activitybus is assigned, shall be guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor.

(c)        Any occupant of apublic school bus or public school activity bus who shall refuse to leave saidbus upon demand of the authorized driver in charge thereof, or upon demand ofthe principal of the school to which said bus is assigned, shall be guilty of aClass 1 misdemeanor.

(c1)      Any person who shallunlawfully and willfully stop, impede, delay, or detain any public school busor public school activity bus being operated for public school purposes shallbe guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor.

(d)        Subsections (b) and(c) of this section shall not apply to a child less than 12 years of age, orauthorized professional school personnel. (1975, c. 191, s. 1; 1993, c. 539, s. 73; 1994, Ex.Sess., c. 24, s. 14(c); 2001‑26, s. 1.)
