§ 14‑165.  Malicious orwillful injury to hired personal property.

Any person who shall rent orhire from any person, firm or corporation, any horse, mule or like animal, orany buggy, wagon, truck, automobile, or other like vehicle, aircraft, motor,trailer, appliance, equipment, tool, or other thing of value, who shallmaliciously or willfully injure or damage the same by in any way using ordriving the same in violation of any statute of the State of North Carolina, orwho shall permit any other person so to do, shall be guilty of a Class 2misdemeanor.
