§ 161-29. Validating acts of assistant and deputy registers of deeds in failing to execute instruments in the name of the register of deeds.

§ 161‑29. Validating acts of assistant and deputy registers of deeds in failing toexecute instruments in the name of the register of deeds.

(a)        Any and all acts and duties performed by any and allassistant or deputy registers of deeds in executing any instrument, whileacting under the provisions of G.S. 161‑6 or any other provisions of law,general, local or special, which failed to substantially comply with G.S. 161‑6(b),shall be and the same are hereby validated, ratified and confirmed to allintents and purposes as if executed in full compliance with G.S. 161‑6(b).

(b)        The provisions of this validating act shall include all actsand duties of the office of assistant or deputy register of deeds, asenumerated and set forth under the specific provisions of this Chapter, orunder the provisions of any general laws as set forth in the General Statutesof North Carolina, or in any other provisions of law, private, local orspecial.
