§ 162‑36. Transferof prisoners to succeeding sheriff.
The delivery of prisoners, by indenture between the late and presentsheriff, or the entering on record in court the names of the several prisoners,and the causes of their commitment, delivered over to the present sheriff,shall be sufficient to discharge the late sheriff from all liability for anyescape that shall happen.
