§ 53.1-133.8. Purchases by agencies, localities and certain nonprofitorganizations.

Articles and services produced or manufactured by participants in jailindustry programs:

1. May be purchased by all departments, institutions and agencies of theCommonwealth which are supported in whole or in part with funds from thestate treasury for their use or the use of persons whom they assistfinancially, provided such purchase is not in conflict with the provisions ofArticle 3 (§ 53.1-41 et seq.) of Chapter 2 of this title.

2. May be purchased by any county, district of any county, city or town andby any nonprofit, volunteer lifesaving or first aid crews, rescue squads,fire departments, sheltered workshops and community service organizations.
